| A note from Kristie: Gold panning can be quite a fun family adventure and for the more serious gold prospector it's a must to know and understand how to gold pan and be able to tell the difference between gold and fool's gold (pyrite). Weather you're looking for some family fun or you're in need of lessons for your prospecting ventures, allow us to help you. Lessons are free here with American Prospector Treasure Seeker, or you have the option to purchase a gold panning bag and take some gold home with you! I learned, or I thought I learned how to gold pan by watching some gold panning videos. It "looked easy" enough watching the "how to" but I realized differently once I did it hands on. With the help of my mom, Sue/owner of the store, I was able to get the hang of it, while I'm still no 'pro' I am much more comfortable with the technique. We welcome you to come in and get some 'hands on' experience here so that you can become more comfortable as well. On another note, this is a great experience for kids too, they love panning for gold and finding the "color" in their pan.
